"We arrived for check in and quickly dropped bags off and then went for a night out in Lancaster to celebrate. Once we returned we quickly found that the electricity in the house wasn’t working. We tried the obvious such as checking the fusebox and unplugging items to see if these were tripping the circuit but there was no luck. No electricity meant that the heating hadn’t come on and there was no hot water. We had to walk around the house via the torches on our phone. We tried the contact number...

"This is our first stay and the bar has been set exceptionally high for anywhere else ! Gill & Ian are fabulous hosts - warm and welcoming and there if you need them, nothing is too much trouble - but they give you the space you need. The lodge is immaculately clean and literally has everything that you might need for a stay. The decor is thoughtful, charming and everything is in superb condition. "The house is nothing special but the bed was comfortable to sleep in and it was in the location we needed to visit family. The kitchen smelled like something was rotting, I think the bins hadn't been disposed of properly before we arrived. There also weren't any towels even though the advert says there will be. It's an okay place to stay as long as you're not expecting luxury."
