Efteling Wonder Hotel - Theme Park tickets included
8/10 Good
"Overall, we had a pleasant stay and had no other complaints, but two improvements would make this hotel truly excellent:
1. Vegetarian/vegan breakfast options. Breakfast consisted mainly of bread. I understand bread is a staple in the Netherlands, but I mentioned at the time of booking that we are vegetarian, and no special arrangements were made. When we raised this on the first day, we were told the options were bread, cheese, fruit, vegetables, and butter. Simple hot dishes such as fries, hash browns, or pasta could easily be prepared in a vegetarian version. As the hotel is in a remote location with no nearby alternatives, we ended up living on bread and butter for two days, which was especially difficult with a 4-year-old child. At this price point, small touches like these would make a big difference.
2. Transport to the nearest bus or train station. Since the hotel is quite far from everything, a shuttle service to the nearest bus or train station would be very helpful for guests."
"Fantastic hotel - sparkling clean, helpful staff, well priced drinks and snacks, lots to keep the kids occupied AND free to use washing machine/tumble drier. LOVED our 1 night stay and pit stop, only wish it had been longer. Incredible value for money, would recommend to anyone."
"Great stay in a room overlooking the river. The room had good facilities, comfortable bed and superb view.
The hotel is well placed with easy access via the metro.
Hotel staff were super friendly and attentive."
"Our room was spacious and so comfortable. We had a nice corner room. We had spent several days before in a very small, historic hotel in another town. We tripped over our luggage or furniture constantly.
This room had so much space. The kettle and tea were a nice touch."
"Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location even if you haven't got a car as the bus stop is just round the corner taking you into the centre and the station in around 15 minutes. Also good for cyclists as they have a locked store. Not many places to eat nearby however. Breakfast is fine. Beds are very comfortable and although rooms are quite small there's everything that you need for a short stay. Next door hotel is popular with commercial drivers so can be noisy early morning."
