Our only problem was with the extremely unhelpful staff member who couldn’t even tell us if our room came with a refrigerator or not. We had called ahead of time to find out this information and she simply said that she was new and it would stay on our reservation. "What a tremendous surprise is the Channel Inn. Excellent location in the Santa Monica Canyon. Friendly staff. Fabulous local restaurants. Complementary wine/cheese at 6:00. "Overall a great hostel. Staff is there all the time to answer questions, feels very safe and everything is clean. My only note is that the bunk beds don’t have curtains like lots of other hostels, so the privacy could be improved"

The property is safe. For a free breakfast it is very good.Breakfast area is adequate. When the hotel is full, you may struggle with seating, alternatively, just eat in your room."

"It was wonderful. We stayed in the Casa Blanca, Bogie and Bacall room. We practically had the upstairs to ourselves which was very nice. I loved the architecture, mission antique furniture, paintings and views. It felt like heaven to be there. Casa Blanca is very spacious and cozy. The architecture and charm carries over throughout the hotel - if the beautiful bathtub was bigger we may not have had any reason to leave the room. Food/drink service is only available until 3pm so plan to enjoy it - the lobby and grounds are so peaceful and beautiful to work from or enjoy a breather.
