"We really enjoyed our stay at Secrets Playa Blanca! The resort is beautiful, the food and drinks were great, the property is gorgeous, and overall we had a wonderful, relaxing all-inclusive experience. We would definitely consider returning.
A few things, however, could be improved.
Like many other reviews mentioned, we were approached about attending a Hyatt presentation that they emphasized was “not a timeshare.” Whatever the technical distinction, it definitely felt like a timeshare-style sales pitch. After a long flight and airport transfer, the last thing we wanted was to spend time listening to a sales presentation—we just wanted to get to the resort and start our vacation.
We also had several issues with the airport transfer. I understand the transfer company isn’t technically the hotel, but since it is recommended by the resort, I think they should ensure better coordination. Another traveler with a name very similar to mine was traveling on the same dates, and our transfers kept getting mixed up, which caused unnecessary stress.
Finally, at checkout we were casually told we owed 5,000+ pesos. I was very confused because we hadn’t charged anything close to that amount—and thankfully, we didn’t owe it! It was resolved, but definitely not the best way to end an otherwise great stay.
Despite these issues, we genuinely loved the resort and had a fantastic vacation. With a little improvement in these areas, the experience could be nearly perfect!"
