Room itself was spacious and decently clean, however, air conditioning barely worked - without the fan (which squeaked all night) we wouldn’t have made it through our first night. The terrace where breakfast is held is not the best - felt very unsafe standing on the roof, and the areas around the room (hallway leading to the room, etc.) felt misrepresented. We ended up leaving after one night when we were supposed to stay for three. Wouldn’t recommend it, especially since the cost was fairly on par with other places. The host did his best to give us lots of information but it was quick and a bit overwhelming.

Azzuretta is in an ideal location right in the heart of the historical area. Our room was spacious and comfortable with lots of light. At night it was quiet. The included breakfast was excellent and was served on the charming rooftop terrace overlooking the city. We were even given a complimentary bottle of wine! The host was engaging, enthusiastic and very helpful. He loaned us a guidebook for the city and provided a map that was quite useful. The only drawback was a lot of stairs—which is only an issue if you have bad old knees like us!

It’s a wonderfully old building with incredible staff. Housekeeping was marvelous! That being said this was ‘not a good match for us’ but might be well enjoyed by others. We stayed in Room 1which was I believe the smaller of the rooms. The larger of the beds was up against the wall-we are old and “crawling into bed” was difficult, and the shower is a ‘don’t drop the soap’ size. The lovely terrace was up some rather dubious stairs for the old knees, but certainly doable for the younger set! So, yes, I’d recommend it to a younger couple! You’ll find Lecce to be a wonderful, safe town!

Truly engaged service & hosting

Very good quality room restored in historic building. Spacious room, very clean, good bed, good shower (except it was quite tiny). Good location in Lecce old town. Nice rustic roof terrace for lounge area and breakfast. But definitely the best was our host Tullio, his heart warming attitude made us feel so welcome and special. He really makes this accommodation stand out from the rest.

Great location, everything is walking distance. Tullio is an excellent host. The continental breakfast was fresh and tasty. The room was big, the bed was comfortable, however the shower is very small. Because the building is from the 1600’s it would have been nice to have it furnished in that period.

Staying at Azzurretta was the highlight of our trip to Puglia and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! We spent 5 days there exploring all the wonders of the area. The hotel has so much charm and history, the rooms are huge, comfortable and are kept incredibly clean. The rooftop terrace is a wonderful space to relax, have a cocktail & enjoy the views or like me, do early morning yoga in total peace. The owner, Tullio is a wonderful guy who is super knowledgeable about all things Puglian and loves to share this knowledge with his guests and make recommendations for places to go and restaurants to eat at. I've actually never stayed anywhere with a nicer or more helpful owner than Tullio. Breakfast on the terrace was our favourite part of the day. Not just because the variety of delicious homemade foods, but the woman who serves them, Sedita, is delightful and greets you each day with the biggest smile ever. She's an absolute gem. We spent 4 days in Monopoli before Lecce and actually wish we'd spend the whole 9 days at Azzurretta and made day trips from there. Anyway, here are some photos of Azzurretta and just some of the remarkable sights we saw while staying there. Thanks so much Tullio & Sedita. We hope to be back one day soon!

Em Lecce como se estivesse em casa.

O Azzurretta é mais do que especial. O dono presta atenção aos detalhes e no café da manhã só serve produtos frescos feitos em casa. O quarto é grande, muito confortável, o banho é gostoso e o melhor da festa é o jeito que as malas sobem para o quarto. Perfeito.
