We stayed at the Hampton by Hilton London Gatwick and appreciated the convenience of being close to the airport. After a difficult public transit experience, we were especially grateful for the hotel’s bar and restaurant. The biggest challenge was finding the hotel’s drop-off area. The listed address directed our Uber driver and us to the large long-term parking garage, which made arrival much more difficult than expected. When we mentioned this to the receptionist, we were disappointed by the response, as she stated that the driver and we should have researched where the drop-off zone was located. Our Uber driver was also frustrated and said he would not accept another request to this hotel because of the difficulty finding the correct entrance.
Overall, the stay itself was pleasant, and the bar and restaurant were highlights. However, clearer directions for the drop-off location and a more helpful response from staff would greatly improve the guest arrival experience."
