Large rooms, bed nets, kitchenette, location (20mn by foot to BICC), good English-style breakfast, friendly personnel, reasonable price.
Bed and linen not so new, not much choice for dinner.

Nice quiet hotel
It's a nice and quiet hotel... since the city center of Lilongwe is not concentrated but scattered, this hotel is not close to anything...
Fantastisk Lodge i area 10 I Lilongwe, meget venligt personale, aldrig nogen problemer.

The property is an old home in the middle of a better part of Lilongwe. It’s much better than most places there. It’s in a relatively safe neighborhood. As long as you don’t have an “American hotel” expectation you’ll survive. Hotel is peaceful and quaint. Staff is nice. WiFi will drive you nuts though.
I was expecting more from this hotel based on the website. However, the hotel was basic. While it was clean the condition of the rooms were poor. Breakfast was poor. At the moment Malawi has numerous power cuts. When we arrived the hotel had a blackout, their generator was broken so there was no back up power. One of the bedrooms in the apartment was crowded with furniture. The double bed took up most of the room up to the door so you crawl into the bed from the living room. There was an unnecessary desk and swivel chair in the room. It would have been better with a single bed rather than a double bed. We arrived at 6pm. The cook was not on the premises when we arrived and would be phoned to come in to cook a meal if we wanted dinner.
NB! Trenger transport for å komme inn til byen.

Food issues
Arrived to late to go out so ate in the lodge.
Food was terrible and expensive. They were also unable to provide any bottle water to buy but they did accommodate my early check out by giving me an early breakfast.

Lovely gardens. Book a garden room.
We stayed 2 nights as part of our 2 week holiday in Malawi. It was a good base from which to explore the northern part of the capital - so different from the old town area where we were based for the first part of our holiday. The good things were: lovely gardens, helpful staff, feeling of safety and security, good cooked breakfast, walkable to the parliament, the Banda mausoleum and the splendid Four Seasons cafe/restaurant. We had a room on the main lodge which was spacious. The worst things were: tatty decor in our bedroom (brolen tiles, broken lampshade, stained ceiling tiles, dirty electric sockets).
We had a look in the newer garden block and these were much better, cleaner, fresher and with a terrace front and back. If I were booking again, I'd definitely want a garden room. The price is very reasonable. One more thing: The hotels.com site says there is an outdoor pool. There is no pool .

Annie's Lodge Malawi
Annie's Lodge has a homely feel about it. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
We had a lot of money stolen out of our room as there was no safe available. Management of the hotel were extremely unhelpful in the matter and said there was nothing they could do to help us. They didn't care that this had happened to us. We would certainly NOT recommend this place to anyone and they are a chain of hotels throughout the country. DO NOT use this place.
Cozy guesthouse with good service and decent food. Not particularly close to anything except one cafe, but that is probably standard for Lilongwe. A/C didn't work and it was lacking some amenities (like shampoo!) but overall it was a decent deal for the money.
We needed a night's lodging in Lilongwe before getting to the plane the next day. We were greeted pleasantly and given a very comfortable large room. We enjoyed the breakfast on the veranda looking out on the lovely grounds. Over all a very pleasant experience for us.
I was booked into Annie's Lodge area 10, which may be quite good. But I was told that I would be in their Guest House and taken a couple of miles to a room that I refused to accept. No air conditioning, no fan, no private bathroom, no refrigerator, no safe.
After a bit they took me to Annie's Lodge area 47 where I had a room with most of the above. But there were louvre windows all around, some of which refused to shut, some even lacking glass. At least the mosquito netting was intact.
this Hotel is located in a very quite area. and it's stuff are very friendly and helpful. Malawians are known for their warm heart and the stuff of Annie's Lodge really forfull that statement.
Grounds well maintained.Beds were comfy.Clean bedrooms.Breakfast was good included cooked items.Found as was advertised.Staff friendly and attentive without been intrusive. Stayed there for first and last night in Malawi. great fro Airport...about 10 miles away. One great asset of Malawi is the people...friendly,happy,great service and reflected in lodge. Obviously not a 5 star hotel but great place to stay.
