Burley House was exactly what I was looking for - beautiful garden, comfortable beds, welcoming staff - nothing too challenging before we set off to explore the country.

Burley House Guest House

Relatively new, rhe staff makes efforts to keep their guests satisfied. Internet access, contact numbers and Map needs some work. There are a few structural improvements that could be done, but understandably this will take time and money. Overall, an enjoyable stay. I would gladly book with them in the future.

The staff at Burley House are exceptional! They anticipate & cater for guest needs before guests even have time to realize they need a thing or service. All of the staff are friendly but also allow guests to have their own personal space. The setting is very tranquil & chic, & offers many outdoor group & individual work / meeting spaces with good wifi. The neighborhood is very walkable, & there are other guest houses & restaurants within walking distance if you want to explore. But it is not necessary to go out for meals, since the food at Burley is 5 star. The family style table encourages guests to interact & create a community of travelers. The airport shuttle includes concierge service all the way through immigration. As a single traveler, I really appreciated this.

This was one of the best stays I have had anywhere. The house is clean, very peaceful and quiet and you can hear the birds in trees in the garden. The rooms are a good size, well appointed and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The shower is good and toiletries are provided. There a blackout curtains and mosquito screens on the windows and nets around the beds. They also off a laundry service for any of your clothes and a desk in your room where you can work. The hosts are excellent, attentive and super professional and nothing was too much trouble during our stay. There are vegetarian and vegan options for breakfast lunch and dinner and everything is homecooked to order. There is also a very good choice of breakfast options including soya milk. You can also eat in the garden if you want to and there is internet throughout the building. There is a small bar for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and a very comfortable lounge where you can watch television if you choose or have a game of pool. The house seems very safe and secure and the location is pretty quiet apart from commuting times when there is very light traffic noise. It was like staying in a top hotel but in the comfort of my own home and when I am next in Lilongwe I look to stay here as my first choice. I really recommend this place to all travelers looking for a home away from home with comfort, good food and peace and quiet. 5 stars from me!
