One of four German navy guns positioned at Longues-sur-Mer as part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall. On D-Day these guns fired over 170 rounds at British and American warships, though by nightfall the warships had taken out three them. The next day the entire crew - some 184 men - surrendered to advancing Allied forces.
