I did not visit the breakfast area as my booking took a detour and I left as soon as I could. I called during my roadtrip around 10 pm to confirm my booking, and to let them know I was arriving after midnight. (I've read comments about people's rooms been released after a certain time as "no shows.") The male clerk assured me the room was safe until 3 (am, pm? not sure). I was supposed to get a 2Q room and was given a 1K rm for a family of four! I called Expedia at 1:30 am to negotiate something with the staff at hotel. I knew it was going to be uncomfortable staying in this room so I wanted to cancel the 2nd night. I requested that, the staff did not offer any solutions. The manager never showed up to talk to me and was just giving instructions to the clerk over the phone which consisted on repeating, "we're completely booked, there's nothing we can do about it." The room I was given was clean, but definitely noisy and not worth the almost $400/night. The pullout couch was a joke, could feel every spring poking my back. Rm 219 is located facing the front of hotel, above the front sliding doors and you could hear them opening all night long. My family and I got four hours of interrupted sleep before heading to Texas Tech University. We had planned to do the campus tour and stay an extra day to visit Adventure park and museums in the area. Instead, we drove back home six hrs.
