"I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Although online and all the brochures advertise a free continental breakfast there is nothing available. We were promised that it would happen the next day, but there was nothing. The fan in the bathroom did not work and there was what appeared to be black mould at the top near the ceiling. The property was very rundown and stank of weed. It would definitely not recommend staying here."

"We loved the pool and hot tub. It was a very large, pleasant area. Lots of lounge chairs and towels. Well kept. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again on another trip."

"I stay at Grouse usually in the fall for hockey. This was my first time staying in May. The largest draw to this hotel is their hot-tub and sauna. It was not advertised until check in that they were doing remodeling on that area so it’s closed until June. The onsite restaurant is a nice benefit to this place however the walls are notoriously thin at this hotel and the air conditioner does not keep the room cool enough as it’s very outdated. Also would have loved to have been there in the summer to take more advantage of their free bike, kayak, and paddle board use. Bike path runs directly in front of the hotel next to the river. Friendly staff would stay here again. Also the fireplace, cookies and 24/7 coffee tea and hot chocolate was wonderful!!!"

"Great location and very updated property; but bring or use ear plugs with the heat or a/c unit going because it's system is very loud and will keep awakening you. Instead of a ductless quiet system despite the expensive rate to stay at the hotel, the hotel chooses to use a wall unit which is like staying at a Motel 6 or quality inn without the discount."
