The cabin we used was in excellent condition and adequate for our needs as were the cooking and ablution block. Very tidy grounds.

Our economy cabin is very small but well equipped with a small fridge, microwave and pot and plate in case you want to cook at the public kitchen . That is good . The bad thing is the public toilet . It is old , dirty. One small sink for the whole toilet with no place to put your toothbrush or toiletries. The gate is closed at 10PM and not opened until almost 7AM even it is written that it is opened at 6:30AM . If you want to leave early you have to leave your car or camping car outside the park !

Magical Mangawhai

I can see why it has the title "Magical Mangawhai" - The views were totally breathtaking. I will be returning (& hope to stay longer next time).

Where are the views?

Clean and comfortable, but misleading on selling points. We stayed in Unit 1 which was advertised as having partial sea views. The unit looks out onto a shed and permanent caravans. There are no sea or beach views. The units are charged as motel units, but no dishwashing liquid, washing power or clothes dryer are provided. Complimentary tea and coffee doesn't come with complementary milk or sugar. It's clean and tidy, but a few basic items missing.

Nice cheap camping ground to get away from it all

We stayed two nights at the end of January 2016 and booked about an hour before arriving, were so pleased they were very friendly and accommodating and had space available! The camp is right on the harbours edge which is really nice for paddling, kayaking and just sitting and watching the world go by, it was a bit difficult to get to the actual beach which was a bit frustrating but not the end of the world.

Just beautiful!!

We love it there. The beach is only a few steps away. Kayaking and stand paddle boarding were the great fun for the kids. The staffs are very nice and friendly. Will definitely go back there again. <3
