Stayed in Shang BGC for the remaining days of our 3week vacation in Manila after 11yrs. I thought it would be nice stay in a trusted Shang property so we leave Manila on a positive note. Did not happen. Terrible staff especially the welcoming ambassadors who greet you upon entering the hotel. A particular staff welcomed us by asking "did you get a suite or JUST a deluxe?". You do not use "just" or any point of comparison between your accommodations. I shared the feedback to the Manager, hours after I saw the same staff at the lobby. I greeted her wi to a big jolly smile on my face which returned by rolling her eyes, frowning, and snob attitude. This annoyed me expecting that as someone who works in hospitality, you do not/never engage with your "paying clients" with crass and antagonizing attitude. Regardless if your were the subject of a complaint! On our last day, I booked an airport transfer and preferred a luxury suv. I asked for a bmw suv and there was a back and forth over series 7 and x7. I know for a fact that series 7 is a sedan but they were saying that its an suv. I googled a picture, thinking there might be a little disconnect to how they call bmw models. I showed a picture of a bmw x7 suv, showed it to all their transport staff and everybody confirmed it was the same vehicle they have. Came the time we need drive to the airport, a bmw series 7 sedan was waiting for us. This is super annoying, disappoint, and downright unacceptable.
