"Here's a polished review that includes the room upgrade: > I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I especially loved the rooftop area—it was a great place to relax and enjoy the view. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection of food. As an added bonus, we were upgraded to a better room, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to others."

"We booked after our flight was cancelled. I booked on Expedia and chose a room that had a queen bed and a window. Upon arrival we were given a room with two small twin beds and the curtain opened to a wall. I asked the very helpful staff at the desk and he explained that there were no more rooms available. He said they would send an inquiry and hopefully be reimbursed the difference but so far that hasn’t happened. The room was a 2 star at best. The breakfast was excellent: Unfortunately our room wasn’t what we paid for."

"The staff at the hotel were fantastic and assisted us with all our needs. Even though we are English speakers we felt right at home here. The rooms are modern, with excellent views of the city (we could even see Christ the redeemer from our hotel window!). The breakfast buffet was plentiful each morning and provided us a very accessible way to get breakfast with such a busy schedule. We completed our excursions and came home to a clean and tidy room each day. The room also had air conditioning that we could adjust according to our needs. The rooftop offers incredible views of Rio and a wide selection of tasty drinks. This hotel is walking distance from so many amazing restaurants and shopping (Musa Cafe and the flagship Havaianas location). Overall I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone coming to the Ipanema area and I hope to be back!"
