"Locating the hotel was a problem. Better signage would help. Sitting in the adjacent parking lot, we saw several illuminated signs, but nothing indicating the hotel was around the corner. Also, reviews mentioned available sandwiches in “The Market”, which turned out to be an empty refrigerator cooler when we arrived at 9:15 PM. The best feature of our stay was a comfortable bed for a good night’s sleep."

"Ironclad was a wonderful place right in Fredericksburg, close to the town and restaurants. Our room was on the 2nd floor, no elevators, but it was okay. Sadly, the Bourbon room was closed, but the staff was ice enough to let us go down and look at the room. Very cool, would stay again!"

"The room itself was excellent. The two issues I had were that the shower curtain allowed water to cover the bathroom floor outside of the shower and the keyless entrance to the room didn't work very well. I had to try the keyless entrance to the room several times to open the door every time I wanted to enter the room. Also having to drive to the location where the continental breakfast and pool were is very inconvenient."

I have been twice in the last 3 weeks due to work, and it was the same both times. Both times, I had multiple experiences at the front desk where staff didn't even look up from what they were doing and said, "Can I help you?" with exasperated facial expressions that appeared as if I was an annoyance or chore. "Beds were very comfortable in room 133. Room was very clean and furniture within the room was comfy and functional. You can hear outside noise quite a bit as people walk and talk outside of the room. Had to get maintenance to fix cold water as it would not shut off. Maintenance was very quick. We would definitely stay again. The motel is an older building, but it’s very well maintained and clean."

"We loved this place. Came down for a family function, we didnt even want to function with the fam, we wanted to explore around the hotel area. It is in the best location. Loved the outdoor patio, great for evening cigar. The staff was so friendly. Sausage gravy was awesome, and the mini waffle maker was so easy to use. When we come for next family function we are definitely staying again."
