"Staff very nice, fridge froze things, microwave didn’t heat right, killed roach in the bathroom"

"Hotel is outdated, looks old and had musty smell in rooms (booked 2 rooms). Went to breakfast the first morning we stayed there only to find out only items available were cold cereal, yogurt and old toast! Website stated "hot" breakfast buffet! The only thing hot was the coffee and tasted like it had been sitting there for days. "We arrived and checked in fine. There were drug addicts surrounding the place. The pool was DIRTY. And open to the street for the people on drugs and doing drugs to watch. After checking I noticed the door didn’t close or lock properly so we had to move rooms. The staff was nice but the gave us keys that were not activated so it made the transition super frustrating . In the the middle of the night in the new room there was noises coming from someone trying to enter the door! Over and over to...

"The hotel was not very up front about the state of the rooms. When we checked in they didn’t tell us the water to the entire building had been shut off, so when we had no water to wash with we asked and then they informed us after the fact. The lights didn’t work well in our room, just the main two lights turned on. Bathroom light flickered all night on and off - weird? Cockroaches by the beds, no refrigerator. No towels at the pool. "The property is located in a questionable area, and there was a police SUV in front when I arrived. The room was in desperate need of maintenance. The AC unit was held together with duct tape, the TV screen was keyed, and the tub handle was loose and did not turn the valve. On the positive side, the room was clean, the door locked, parking was good, and the price was low. Plus, I was not robbed. You get what you pay for."
