"This is the 3rd time that I am returning to Halcyon. It really is the best hotel on Mawella beach (and maybe even in whole of southern province :) The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated, the staff are super friendly, including owner Xander, it's absolutely right on the beach , the food is great. "We spent 3 days at this fabulous property. We loved the location - the sea was perfect for swimming and the pool was nice too. In front of the beach is a lovely lawned area with trees which is perfect for those of us who like a bit of shade. The rooms were large (we had a sea view room) and well equipped. You should be prepared to be self sufficient - the staff are inexperienced and shy so aren’t proactive in clearing tables or offering drinks - they prefer to hide inside. You have to ask...

"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings.
