"The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!"

"Hotel was located close to the interstate made it easy to get around, there was a couple of places to get something to eat near by. The hotel was quite and clean and the staff was easy to find and polite if I needed something."

"I reserved a King suite based on the features listed, the main attraction was an additional sofa bed in the room. My mother has mobility issues so the sofa bed would have been low enough for her to sit, lay, and sleep comfortably. Unfortunately this suite was located on the 2nd floor, and with no elevator available on the property, she was not going to be able to traverse a long staircase. "There wasn’t a way to open the window, so the air was stuffy. The staff woke me up at 8:30 in the morning asking me if I needed room service, which I was not impressed with. The man who checked me in last night, August 1, 2026 was extremely helpful and extremely nice. I appreciated him."

"The room was just remodeled so that was ok. The amenities are what upset me. The complimentary breakfast was terrible. Its like it was made in the microwave. The pool has way too much chlorine which made my eyes burn after 10 minutes of being in the room. The dining area chairs were all ripped. The biggest issue is its located in the back of a liquor store which seems to be thw hangout spot for alot of people."
