"Our stay at Shangri-La from 9/17 - 9/20 was overall very nice. The resort is showing its age and the rooms are somewhat small, but they were clean. The biggest adjustment was that the on-site bars closed somewhere between 9:00 and 10:00 on Thursday and by 11:00 on Saturday, although they did stay open for the remainder of one of the football games, but then closed.
The staff was very helpful and nice to work with.
The golf course was excellent and was the main reason we went to Shangri-La for the weekend. The staff at the course were great to work with and very helpful is setting up tee times. The tee boxes were the nicest I have ever played on, large and flat and perfectly manicured. The greens rolled fast and true and were in great shape. And, the fairways were perfect for the most part. Since they have 3 9 hole courses, the course never felt overly crowded. But...it was a golfing weekend with lots of players on both Friday and Saturday and the courses did play a little slow. The bar and grill at the course did not open until 4:00 each day but we did eat there Saturday night and had a great dinner.
Overall, we would definitely return to Shangri-La, for either a relaxing weekend with family or for a golf weekend with friends."
