Seven Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Updated Seven Hotel Guest Review Our double room was quite compact, with very little floor space to move around comfortably, and the double‑sized bed felt small too. The television was difficult to operate and did not include streaming services such as Netflix or YouTube, which was disappointing. We also noticed a persistent buzzing noise coming from within the room throughout our stay. Please note the hotel takes a £50 deposit for potential damages on check‑in. Overall our two‑night stay was acceptable. The staff were polite and friendly, and the location is convenient for exploring Southend‑on‑Sea. That said, we would not recommend staying for a full week, as the limited space may feel restrictive for longer trips. Guests who prefer more spacious accommodation may wish to consider this before booking. Do you want me to make this a bit shorter to fit easily in the review box?"

The Essex Golf and Country Club

8/10 Good

"Overall, the stay was ok. I was not a fan of the connecting door in the room that had no visible lock on my side, which made the stay slightly uncomfortable. The Spa could do with some work, with the sauna door blowing open every 20 seconds and gaps in the Steam room tiles creating cold drafts. The Breakfast was good, but I was never actually welcomed or spoken to. So there might have been things I missed that I was unaware of. That being said, it was a buffet style, so fairly self explanatory."

Holiday Inn Express Colchester by IHG

8/10 Good

"It’s a holiday inn next to a garage with a Waitrose. It’s a fairly nice one tho. Lovely reception / dining area. Bathrooms superb. Tv a little old but ok. Heating not working but had an electric oil radiator. Food fairly poor and very expensive like similar holiday inns. Breakfast was ok. I’d stay here again tho if necessary."

Holiday Inn Express Braintree by IHG

8/10 Good

"Lovely stay. We booked through hotels.com. Booking was easy. Staff at the hotel were lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. Room and hotel was clean and well maintained. My only comment would be the kettle in the room could do with descaling, this put me off abit that I wasn’t able to have my morning coffee."
