The kids absolutely loved feeding the farm animals every morning (so did we!) it was such a fun way to start the day and definitely made the stay extra special. "Check in was easy. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The evening meal in the restaurant was poor. There was no ice for our drinks from the bar beforehand. My husband’s meal of fish goujons and chips was undercooked. At breakfast the mixed fruit berries hadn’t fully defrosted, the sausages had been undercooked and the fruit juices were awful. Stay, but don’t eat here!"

"The room and hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were nice but not the most helpful when I called before our stay. It took two phone calls to find out if there was somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening. Breakfast was quite nice. Evening meal in the Bistro was very average. The coffee in the room was nescafe instant sachets which was very disappointing for 4* hotel, and the decaf at breakfast was also nescafe instant. However, the price we paid was very good. I would stay again but I'd bring my own coffee and milk for the room (only 2 pots of UHT milk provided)."

"On the whole we enjoyed our stay. The food really and staff were very nice. The decor was a little dated and the room smelt a little musty, which wasnt really a problem. I was looking forward to having a bath after a 200 mile drive. Unfortunately there were black spots around the corners of the silicon on the edge of the bath. Then I turned the taps on I went back to the bath to check on it and there were things floating in the bath. I emptied it a tried again. I did this 4 times. Every time there was stuff coming out of the taps. When I brought it to the hotels attention. Is all they said was that there was repairs going on in the street and it could of been that. This happened the following evening too. As regards the matter the hotel staff were not very helpful but they were polite. When your paying for a suite I would have thought that they would of been able to help us a bit more. I ended up washing in the sink. The breakfast was very nice. I would consider staying there again. Please dont take this review as all bad. Everything else about the hotel was very nice as were the staff. It was just that they wasnt helpful with one issue. If I was staying there longer than 2 nights I would have asked for another room."

"Basic double was fine. Everything we needed. Great location and plenty of breakfast options in town. Historic property so expect winding stairs and tight corners that comes with character. Only niggle was the heat of the room - but a fan was provided for the room if wanted. Great to have a parking option too in the middle of Exeter. Would stay again."
