"It looks like Hilton is working to improve the property, which is good. A couple things to note:
- lobby / entrance is beautiful, smells great.
- fabulous drinks at the bar (Bravo, Ellie!).
- Staff were lovely- truly great people, great customer service.
- room cleaning staff were really great too! Very nice and helpful.
- room was… ok. Step-in tub was uncomfortable (better placed grab bars please!), but the warming towel rack was nice.
- small touches were missing in the room (no pen and paper in the suite from what we could tell)
- breakfast as good! A few more fresh options would be nice (to balance out the decadent sausages, haggis, bacon, hash browns, etc) but overall really good.
Main criticism- the spa needs a lot of TLC. Locker rooms weren’t well appointed (extra towels would be good). The steam room - a big draw after long flights and train rides - was actually a little gross. Someone had a bloody nose (or something) and it was smeared a little on the wall. Phlegm on floor (or so it seemed). This is really unacceptable, so hope they can address asap. They want to expand spa offerings, and I think there is potential (nice products!), but these details will matter if the goal is to compete with Four Seasons and Ritz for spa offerings!"
