OUT OF BUISNESS

You need to remove this hotel from your site. It is closed down. Went to check in on saturday the 30th, and doors boarded, windows knocked out. Its turning into apartment buildings. So i had to search for a new hotel right away. I found Ambassador Inn in milwaukee......5 stars. Loved my stay. Clean rooms, soft bed, fluffy pillows, great shower, mini bar, and a kerig in the room. Loved it.

It's gone and they did not even inform guests that they were closing. Found a better place anyway won't miss it.

What Hotel?

Expedia sent me an itinerary the day before check in and upon arrival I found the hotel had been closed about a month before. Trying to find a room on a booked weekend was nothing short of miraculous!

The room was fabulous. I loved the fully-loaded kitchenette and the old school vibe in the decor. I would love to see how some of the other suites are decorated!

Als wir ankamen, erfuhren wir, dass es kein Morgenessen mehr gibt, sowie dass das Restaurant unten drin auch schliesst. Sie haben uns zwar einen Rabatt gegeben, aber mühsam war es trotzdem. In der Nähe ist ein grosses Lebensmittelgeschäft und da es in den Zimmern eine Mikrowelle und einen Kühlschrank hatte, haben wir uns so das Morgenessen beschafft. Wir waren im Public Museum, was ich nur sehr empfehlen kann. wir sind um halb 11 rein und erst wieder raus, als es geschlossen hat. Für einen guten Burger kann man in das 10min entfernte Elsa Restaurant gehen. Man muss aber min. 21 Jahre alt sein, als Ausweis nicht vergessen.

Wonderful location, staff . . . sorry to see it go

We had a most excellent stay in Milwaukee (the city was surprizingly delightful and engaging), made all the better by this lovely hotel in a perfect location close to everything. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We are very sorry to see it go. Will probably check out the nearby Plaza Hotel (with it's older building and excellent Cafe) when we visit Milwaukee again (son enrolled at Marquette University).

The hotel was listed as having free breakfast, there was not. Also told bar served food until 12am also not true. rooms were dated ice machines didn't work ect...

hotel was closing no bar no continental breakfast

staff had poor attitude as they were losing their jobs. Hotel nice and staff trying to do the best they could underthe circumstance. They also adjusted our bill based on lack of ammenities

Promises not fulfilled

The 1st room we got had a noisy ventilation unit. The 2nd room had a TV that didn't work and only a whirlpool/shower that a lot of people wouldn't be able to get in or out of, besides being in noticeable dis-repair. The 3rd room tv did not work, but we were done moving. We were told by several of the staff that people who went thru what we did Would get the parking fee of $20 refunded and get 15% off the room, but we needed to do this thru Hotels.com. I called Hotels.com 2 days later and told them this and that they needed to call this hotel and work with the hotel management on getting the 15% back somehow. Needless to say the hotel management refused due to us ending up in a larger room despite having problems also. We had already decided that we were never staying there again that night.

Foul and Filthy

Besides a panhandler stopping on the way into the hotel, I've seen housing projects that were cleaner than this place. The first room stank! When I turned on the lights, I was shocked to see the floor molding half on/off the wall. There was hair in the bathroom sink, and the sheets were obviously UN-CHANGED. However, I was completely unprepared to see the most disgusting thing that anyone could possibly imagine in a "hotel" when I pulled the sheets back to reveal a whole in the mattress, and stains so old and deep that one could imagine it was taken from a landfill and put on the bed. It is/was unsanitary in every conceivable way, and begs for an inspection by the Dept. of Public Health. Repulsed, I went to the front desk and was offered a room next door, which I refused citing that wasn't far enough for whatever plague Room #225 contained. I was offered an upgrade at no additional charge (which also was no prize with heavy stains in the carpeting), but that still does not negate the fact that Room #225 is online, with a mattress you may expect to find in a third world country.

It was okay. There were some lightbulbs missing and an old coffee filter in the machine, which didn't bode well. The staff was fine and the restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent.

Location was great for our visit to Milwaukee.

We have visited the Park East before as it is located near our son's residence. We find it easy to get to - love the off-street parking. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to be closer to the Third Ward.

Hotel was adequate. It did have a sign that the free breakfast would be ending "shortly." However, without warning, the breakfast ended on my third day without warning. Had to get to airport so didn't have time to go elsewhere. Coffee and dry cereal was the only offering. The bar is not managed by the hotel, and the bartender was not customer oriented - almost rude. However, the reception desk attendants and housekeeping were very helpful and friendly.

Nice hotel, lovely staff, close to the lake.

We had a nice stay in this hotel. The neighborhood is quite lovely and quiet, within walking distance to the lake and nearby parks. A five to ten minute drive to the Festival grounds, and the 3rd ward. There is a nice restaurant two blocks away on State Street where we had breakfast, which was delicious. The off-street parking was nice, and the staff was very helpful. Checkin was quick and easy. The room has a small fridge and coffee machine. Nice hot shower! We did not get to the bar or restaurant in the hotel, but the bar looked fun, and the smells from the restaurant we're inviting. Only problem was that there were not enough electrical outlets for 2 people with devices that needed charging, but next time we will bring a powerstrip, I would recommend this hotel.

Overall a good stay. The only issue is that the hotel advertised free breakfast. There really wasn't one and really disappointed. No discount was offered to me over this although it was offered to others.
