We were staying there during the blackout and the staff put together food and brought in to all the rooms along with candles and battery lamps. The staff worked so hard to make us comfortable and kept us updated on the power outage. Their kindness was very much appreciated. Would stay there again and again. "

"Wonderful property, loved the historic parts and the renovations. The rooms in the newer wings are very modern. The gardens and pool area are very relaxing. Restaurants are good quality and the included breakfast buffet is really above and beyond. The staff was very responsive to service requests as well. All in all a great experience!!!"

"This is a beautiful, peaceful hotel. The rooms are large, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff are wonderful. It would serve perfectly as a retreat and invites meditation. There are no TVs in the rooms, but there's a big TV in a common room. The building also houses artwork and small museums.
It's a bit isolated. The restaurant wasn't open the night we were there, but we had a lovely dinner at a restaurant 700 meters away. You can also go to the castle for dinner. The hotel breakfast...
"The location was spectacularly close to some of the main cultural sites of Évora. All were easily walkable, usually within minutes, and that included restaurants, as well as historical sites. The absolute best thing about the hotel were the staff. Flawlessly professional, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Restaurant recommendations and reservations were handled with aplomb. I’d never seen a 10.0 rating before. They certainly met that standard for me."
