The best part was the proprietor Jim who kept in close touch regarding details of our arrival and activities in Montgomery. I loved sitting on the back porch at twilight overlooking the pool and listening to the birdsong and music piped out from the house. Jim prepared good breakfasts and sat down with us to join our conversations. The home is lovely.
Highlight was breakfast time with other guests and Jim. Jim was full of knowledge and stories about Alabama and the local area. Room was nice. Fan could use tightening - rhythmic creaking. And bring your own shampoo.
The inn keeper, Jim, was a very gracious and accommodative host. The breakfast was great and the service was outstanding. The small touches, such as the cookies brought to our room, and the welcome message spelled out with Scrabble pieces, made our stay even more special.
The Lattice Inn is a very comfortable home with only two bedrooms for rent. It is in Old Cloverdale and very accessible to downtown, Huntington College and Bama State. . Jim,the Innkeeper, is quite hospitable and an excellent cook. He made us feel at home. We will definitely stay there whenever we visit Montgomery again.

Very attentive and friendly host. Could be better if there was coffee making facilities in room or kitchen.
Jim is a very considerate innkeeper and his inn is very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast was amazing! Very filling and delicious. There is an in-room fridge with water and soft drinks and detailed instructions on working the TV and DVD, if you are so inclined to watch. There are plenty of plugs for any electronics you have brought with you. The backyard and swimming pool are quite lovely. We wish we could have stayed longer!
As others have said Jim was a wonderful host, happy to spend his time with guests and full of excellent recomendations for places to eat and visit. We felt more like house guests than residents. The Inn is furnished to a high standard, assuming you like Victoriana. The breakfast was excellent - especially the cheesy grits - and all the more enjoyable as Jim tries to coordinate all the guests to eat family style.
Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the pool. We would definately stay again.
Beautiful and historic B&B. Innkeeper, Jim, is informative, friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again when we are passing through Montgomery. We stayed in the Magnolia suite and the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom is a little small but it was clean and convenient.
This Inn certainly represents the best of Montgomery. The moment I was greeted by Jim, the innkeeper, I knew that I was somewhere special. I felt like a friend that Jim was welcoming home. The morning breakfast included several delightful courses and was peppered by a lively discussion with other guests around the communal dining table. It is a safe and affirming place for all who come with good intentions to relax and experience a gentler side of Montgomery.
Wonderful B & B with charm to spare. We found our brief stay to be extremely relaxing and peaceful. Located in a friendly, quiet neighborhood.
Jim took care of our every request, going beyond expectations!
Breakfast was delicious each day with mostly fresh, homemade dishes.
A beautiful, sparkling clean pool in back yard for your enjoyment.
You won't regret staying at the Lattice Inn.
And, plenty of parking.
What a nice change of pace from a typical chain hotel! Jim the owner made my boyfriend and I feel right at home. He even welcomed my daughter for breakfast as she attends college in town (the reason for our visit). The room was very comfortable and lovely. Nice touches included water and soft drinks in the refrigerator and a bedtime snack. The bed was SO comfortable! Breakfast in the morning was delicious with a wide variety of foods. I need to visit my daughter again soon just so I can stay here again!
We chose the Lattice Inn because it was a B&B in a nice neighborhood, yet convenient to downtown Montgomery. It is situated in the Garden District and nearby Cloverdale, which are beautiful, comfortable neighborhoods .
The inn is a charming cottage with a welcoming front porch, spacious rooms that are nicely furnished with comfortable beds and wonderful common space, that is as nice as you'll expect to see. There was even an in- ground pool which we didn't use, even though it nearly hit 90 degrees while we were there in early November.
Jim (owner and innkeeper) is most welcoming, with lots of good ideas on restaurants and things to do (including the free downtown parking pass). He gave us wonderful breakfasts (frittata, grits, biscuits, fruit) that set you on your way. We enjoyed the time he spent chatting with us, as well as the time we spent talking with other guests, as well.
We feel that we found one of the nicest spots yo stay in Montgomery. We highly recommend, without any second thoughts.
