This property Is in a great location, when you come out the door to the street, to your right is the Notre Dame Basilica. 1minute walk to the end of the street. Restaurants on St. Paul street are 2 minutes away. Amazing location.
My issues with this property are that there is nobody to reach out to. When booking at this property I booked through Expedia, but Sonder owns it and somehow they are partnered with Marriott. I booked a month ago and bought cancellations insurance. When I booked it said non refundable that’s why I bought the insurance.
Our plans changed slightly and I wanted to either get the room for another night, or cancel and get a room across the street that could accommodate for 2 nights. No way no how. There is nobody onsite. Because I booked through Expedia you have to go through them. But then there’s an issue and in the end it turns into a dog chasing its tail story.
After 2 days of tail chasing someone from Sonder finally texted me a number to call to see if they could help me book another night, but at that point I couldn’t ever waste another penny at a Sonder location. Sonder is run by accountants and its only purpose is to make as much money with as little effort.
So the extra night I booked was Hotel Place d'Armes, over 1 block. The staff there were nothing short of amazing. They brought our luggage over, they allowed us to leave our car.
In the end don’t stay here.
