"I didn’t exactly know what I was letting myself in for when I booked into The Shepherd’s Lodge but it was actually a pleasant experience and it provided exactly what I was looking for i.e. a comfortable place to lay my head at night and have a cup of tea and few quiet hours after a long day at a Folk Music Festival. The only problems I encountered were due to the weather and therefore beyond anyone’s control. "

"This was a great site and a wonderful location. It’s big and spacious yet only shared with 6 other spaces. Our kids could run around and we didn’t need to worry about them. The modern and warm showers were lovely and it was nice having flushing toilets. The tents and kitchens were brilliantly equipped. "Had an enjoyable short break at the Maple Lodge. Hosts were very friendly including the cats and dogs. Lodge was cozy, clean and had all the amenities you need. Bed was comfortable and slept well after all the walking and trekking.
