Harborside at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

"We enjoyed our stay. The place has a cool vibe. We liked the little beach area, pool and easy walk to the water taxi. Our room was nice enough. We had room 215 which was a “harbor view” room, we could see the next door beach club swimming pool. The beds were nice, I would’ve preferred less giant pillows and a couple of standard sized pillows. 6 lg pillows per queen sized bed is too many! I liked the bar and grill, nice staff and ok bar food. The hotel could use a few nice vending machines. The downside is that there is only 1 restaurant . The fish house, it has a magnificent view, but we were not impressed with the food. They did not have takeout. The free shuttle to downtown was nice. James should have been a tour guide!"

"We arrived early but our rooms were not ready until much later than 4:00. We ended up waiting for over an hour in the lobby, which was not the best but we were able to review the art pieces. We did not start with the right foot. The rooms were very large but unfortunately we got them on the side of Bay St. and it was pretty noisy outside. The location is great. Very comfortable bed and very strong shower."

"The hotel is in a good location convenient to downtown Charleston and the staff was polite but the room was filthy on check in, bathroom had mildew in the shower, thick dust around the sides of the bed - especially by the nightstands - and the insides of the drawers were dirty. We requested a room cleaning showing the clerk pictures of the room and they took care of the bathroom and remade the bed but the rest of the room remained dusty and dirty. There was also trash piled up in the alcove by the ice machine. We prepaid for the room so we decided to make the best of it and not lose the money we paid. Breakfast was okay, we did not try the pool."

"Hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in a great location. Any type of cuisine you could want is within a 10 minute walk along with lots of restaurants serving up local fare. Staff was super helpful and for a hotel that is over 100 years old, it was very well kept and clean. Only complaint is that beds are full size, not queen so be sure to pay close attention when booking. I did not and found it difficult for our party of 3 to sleep in only two beds. Staff was amazing about bringing in a twin size roll away when I asked for one... but it unfortunately was also very uncomfortable. And the Starbucks was closed. Those are my only complaints. Otherwise hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in a great location. We were only there for a weekend but we really enjoyed our stay in Charleston."

"Entirely great except prepar for loud AC unit turn on. Seems to be an old unit that is very loud but it works, pick your battles. The pool was great smaller than photos but worth a sit. Location is perfect for avoiding crowds of nonlocals."
Tides Folly Beach, Charleston's Oceanfront Hotel

"A few things. My wife found one of her pillowcases filthy the next morning. Front desk was made aware and we very understanding. They knocked off the resort fee for one night which wasn't much. Besides that the location and view was excellent. However a few things. 1- The room was small as well as the fridge which was tiny 2- The bathroom had no hooks or towel racks to hang towels. 3- The balcony was smaller than expected and did not have any chairs. 4- A laundry room on site would be beneficial. The staff was all friendly including the cleaning folks. All in all not a bad place but your paying for location and views for sure."

"The room walls were thin- can hear everything in the hallway and adjacent rooms. Pool was always full; difficult at any time of day to get a spot and front desk was not very knowledgeable. Restaurant had decent food, rooms were very clean, coffee shop was great, and so was the location- close to everything!"
Drury Plaza Hotel North Charleston
10/10 Excellent
"Our flight out of Charleston was canceled at 8 PM one night so we booked the Drury and wish we could’ve stayed several more nights. The hotel has a great breakfast, a wonderful swimming area with hot tub, and the rooms are immaculate. Plus the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. The room we booked was not available when we got there so we were upgraded to a king suite. It made our flight delay and all that goes with that much more bearable. I can’t recommend this hotel enough."
