The Aurora Inn & Cottages

"The room: Was fairly clean, the bedding appeared fresh and the towels folded neatly. The bed was queen size, the frame was metal so unfortunately every little movement caused squeaking. Extra blankets were supplied. The bathroom had a claw foot tub, but no shelf nearby other than the window sill, so the soaps were lined up on that which made it difficult to fully close the window shade without fear of them falling off. It also made reaching them while showering difficult. The sink was a pedestal sink, so there were very limited areas to set toiletries in the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a shelf or small table near the tub to set soaps on, and maybe a little shelf unit by the sink as well. The only mirror was in the bathroom, so if one person was in there and someone else needed the mirror to get ready, you’d have to wait. A mirror placed somewhere outside of the bathroom for getting ready would be a nice addition. There were charging ports available on the nightstand. Amenities: The pool was closed during our visit, and we didn’t utilize the sauna. There were 2 fire pit areas that looked nice. The breakfast/coffee bar was nice, but would be picked over by later in the day. The parking was a little unclear, we were instructed to park outside of our room, but a couple times there was already a vehicle in that area. Overall the stay was nice, it was quiet in the room and on the property, and the atmosphere was cozy with thoughtful amenities."

"The property looked nice driving up but the interior needs to be updated. My room was on the 1st floor and the hallway floors were uneven and seem well worn. The room was ok, clean but a tiny TV and the pillows were not even standard size,more like throw pillows. Luckily,I always bring my own. The phone was old and there was a DVD player in the room, so yes some updates could help. I didn't realize the restaurant was going to be closed through the end of the year, so we had to leave to get dinner. I was looking forward to having dinner and a drink after arriving. The gym was clean with a good offering of equipment and the pool and jacuzzi looked nice. There was also an area with fire pits on the 1st floor that groups were sitting around. It wasn't a bad stay, just left me wanting a little more."

"We arrived shortly after midnight and check in was easy. An envelope was waiting for me with room key. Completed my check in the next morning and we’re all set. Our room is wonderful. It has second floor for our bedroom, it’s so cool."
Snowy Owl Inn And Resort

"If you're in Waterville Valley, staying at the Snowy Owl is a great choice. Rooms could use a coat of paint but mine was clean and well appointed. The staff was delightful. Not just helpful and efficient but incredibly personable. The Indian restaurant within the Inn has excellent food. Service is good but understaffed. My server did the best she could on a Saturday night with several big groups there at the same time. But the food! So good. And, in terms of location, it's less than a 2 minute walk from town center. So convenient. Was also one of the more reasonably priced of the places to stay in the area."
