"Set in a quiet village centre; this hotel was just lovely. A warm welcome from the host, who explained everything about the room and gave me pointers to all the restaurants/bars nearby. Comfy bed, lovely shower and bath, Nespresso machine, smart TV which also had BBC 1/2/News for us travelling from the UK. I travelled to the country by train and there is an excellent bus service from Amsterdam to Monnickendam; where it's about a 10 minutes walk to the hotel. No need for cash as they take contactless/apple pay/gpay and the Amsterdam Regional Ticket which covers the buses,trams,metro,and local rail services. The continental breakfast was good. For me, this was the perfect, affordable and peaceful hotel away from the hustle, bustle, prices and chaos of Amsterdam City Centre I would definitely stay here again."

"Clean large room with terrace with a great seaview love come back here in the summer for walks and bike riding. Lovely area not been here for over 40 years since I left the Netherlands. Highly recommend this hotel for a longer stay, originally only booked for one night with booked another night straight away. Amazing for water sports. "We spent 4 nights at Heavens Hotel whilst we visited friends in Hoorn, and the hotel was an absolute delight! The setting within an old church is so unique - the room was large and roomy, very clean, a lovely bathroom. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and accommodating, and were happy to come back if we had a late start leaving our room. Reception staff were also very friendly. Breakfast on offer was extensive and very tasty - the chef was very accommodating. Perhaps the only disappointing part of our stay was that the staff member in charge of breakfast each day tried to explain on several days how the breakfast worked - we were the only Australians in the hotel at the time, I believe, and speaking English, and the breakfast restaurant was not terribly busy at the time, so it was disappointing that she did not remember we had been to breakfast the day before, and then the day before that, and the day before. Also, we ordered English breakfast tea each morning, and each morning we were surprised that our order wasn't remembered. This was a minimal issue, and I feel a little critical in mentioning it, however we stayed in a number of hotels throughout Europe which were much busier, and most days our orders (and ourselves) were remembered by breakfast staff. The little personal touch of remembering that we had been there the day previously, and remembering what we ordered to drink, would have made a huge difference. Overall - a great stay, highly recommended!"

"This is a lovely hotel surrounded by green open spaces. The hotel is newly refurbished so all furnishing in the public areas and the room we stayed in are new. The restaurant serves a beautiful buffet style breakfast and serves a basic but wholesome menu for lunch and dinner. Food quality is excellent and the staff extremely kind and attentive. Plenty of parking is available but to go to central Amsterdam, the bus is the best choice. The stop is less than 100 meters away and takes you directly to Amsterdam central. The villages of Volendam and Edam al almost within walking distance. "

"The staff were really helpful, food was excellent. The waitress Emmy was particularly good. It was quite expensive but good value for that. It was a good place to stay to then go and visit our relatives in Swifterbant."
