"This is a basic hotel. Like a basic Best Western. The rooms are showing their age, with some rough walls, worn decor and fixtures. It’s clean, and it’s fine, the bed is comfortable, but it’s nothing special. The pool lining is discolored and dirty looking. The staff are very friendly and courteous, the included breakfast is a great perk. The bar service at the pool is very very slow. Overall, it was fine, but I wouldn’t stay again."

"Hotel Getsemaní Luxury is always top rate. Best for activities around Plaza de la Trinidad or at night out at Cafe Havana, but not too far from El Centro either."

"A very nice hotel. Excellent breakfast. The location is perfect for accessing the beach, less than 10 minutes from the walled old town and the airport. Upon check-in, I received excellent service from René. He was very helpful in ensuring my room was ready quickly, even though I arrived a little early. He was also there when I checked out. He was very kind and helpful with the airport transfer. The rest of the staff were also excellent. The rooms were spacious, with comfortable beds and very clean. I would definitely stay here again."

"The Hotel is in a great location in the centre of Cartagena old town. Room was cleaned daily and had a good sized fridge, however the room safe was tiny. From our point of view breakfast started too late (from 0730) as we had excursions organised with early pick ups. This meant that we could not have breakfast in the Hotel throughout our stay despite it being included in our room rate. "

"Very disappointing experience — especially compared to our stay in December. Upon arrival, we were told our reserved room was only available for three nights and that we would need to move for one. We declined. We were then offered a much smaller, dated room instead. After two hours of discussion, we were finally given the exact room category we had originally booked — and stayed in previously. No apology, no accountability. Staff repeatedly insisted the duplex we reserved was smaller than the duplex with a view. Expedia screenshot description clearly shows otherwise — it is actually slightly larger. The Expedia agent did not resolve the issue; we did, by providing screenshots and prior booking details and photos. Basic standards were also lacking: non-working TV remote, no hairdryer (and the replacement didn’t work), and a non-functioning phone. By the time we were settled, the pool was closed for a private event — first day wasted. If not for the larger room layouts compared to the Sofitel building, we would not return. Despite being positioned as a sister property, this feels more like an annex. All positives — pool, food, staff — belong to Sofitel. In short: not acknowledged as returning guests and treated as though booking details were negotiable. Very disappointing."

"It isn’t in a great location and you can hear car horns and activity all night long. It’s a convenient location to get around the walled city but not if you want quiet or to sleep. We also tried contacting the hotel to adjust our reservation starting a week before our arrival and after 5 attempts with no response we gave up. "
