After check-in maintenance entered my unit while my minor daughter was there alone. When i returned he explained that he was completing a work order to spray for mold that was suppose to be filled before my arrival. (I checked in at almost 6pm) My entire unit was soaked with the bleach solution that he used and the fumes were intolerable. I had to leave the unit for hrs to let the room air out and be cleaned again. The only other option was a room significantly smaller than the one i booked. I was told by front desk personnel that my stay would be comp'd due to the properties negligence as well as inconveniences. The bleach fumes were still very strong when i was allowed back in. When leaving the poperty i inquired about my compensation and the manager told me they would not refund me only issue a giftcard for 2 nights. She told me i paid through a third party and if i tried to contact that third party for a refund she would reject it. She lied to the third party stating that i was asked to leave on my check out date. Apparently the front desk staff isnt properly trained under her management. I feel she needs additional training as well. Usually when I visit Myrtle Beach I usually stay in North Myrtle. This experience and solidified that any future stay will definitely not me with Caravelle.
