Nantes is a wonderful city to visit because it's clean, calm (most stores closed on Sunday - be prepared). I was uncomfortable with the number of unemployed young men standing around the city tramway tracks near old downtown who pander, seem menacing

Nice small city, plenty to see and do, lots of food options. Pedestrian centre very good. FNAC store is full of 'Boys Toys', books and much more, and there's Galleries Lafayette nearby too.
