"This was our 6th 3 ⭐️hotel in Japan and our most disappointing. The room and the location of the hotel was good but what we felt let it down was the breakfast and the lounge area. You had to book a time slot for your breakfast for each day of the stay. Then you had no choice you lined up as if you were in a hostel to receive a Bento box which was alternated one day Western one day Japanese. The Happy Hour was a little disingenuous as all that was offered was sake and beer. I think there could be better accommodation offers elsewhere in Takayama. "

"The room was spacious and had an amazing view of the snow capped mountains. Hotel were very accommodating with storing our luggage before check in. Fantastic spot - central to everything"

"The dinner meal was the main highlight of our stay: there was sukiyaki, the best miso soup (perfect balance of sweet and salty) with mushrooms, sashimi, tempura with local veggies, chawanmushi etc. I’d argue that this meal was better than some highly rated restaurants in Takayama. The staff were extremely nice and hospitality was great, some knew a bit of English. We enjoyed the public baths. "

"Very nice onsen, the baths were very comfortable and the outdoor baths were very relaxing. The rooms were big, the personal onsen overlooking the nature was very nice. Would recommend this place, highly."

"This was a very traditional Japanese hotel. The staff were great and the western breakfast was really nice as well had a different one every day. Staff were very polite and helpful during our stay. View was great and beds very comfortable"
