"Our final room was clean. But we had to move rooms because the first room smelled badly of cigarettes. Overall, the room was good. Comfy beds. Bright bathroom.
Since this hotel had exterior doors, we could see into many rooms on the way to ours. There were a surprising number of rooms overfull with a number of men who were openly doing cooking of ethnic foods in the rooms. Highly questionable! There was also the smell of pot outside.
Another factor that was a surprise to me was that there were no elevators for a three story hotel. It made getting around awkward, and driving around the building was one-way traffic only down narrow alleys in the side of a hill. Our key only worked for one night instead of two, so we had to make numerous trips down to fix that. There was A LOT of road noise heard in the room since we were so close to the street. Getting ice required a long walk and multiple stairs. Breakfast was adequate. Coffee was good.
Not a bad stay. But not my favorite either. At least the staff was nice, and as helpful as they could be. Very close to Biltmore House."
