"We had a fabulous weekend break at the Great Western Hotel. The room looks to have been newly refurbished and was nicely decorated. Tea coffee in the room and complementary toiletries in the bathroom was a nice touch. The bed was really comfy and the room was cleaned each day. "The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly and very helpful suggesting places to visit during our stay. Our room was beautiful, with some lovely touches. We had a coffee maker and yummy biscuits in our room. We also had dry robes in the wardrobe to use at the beach over the road. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious as was dinner. "The hospitality is wonderful all staff are cheerful and helpful, we ate in the restaurant most evenings and never had a bad meal from the varied menu beautifully cooked , cleaners come in every day always doing a fabulous job, parking on site is a bonus , the town and beaches in walking distance. "Our room was up several sets of stairs, but as a result had a magnificent view of the port. Since the room was in the roof cavity it had low oak beams and the internal stairs were a potential risk when going to the bathroom at night, but it was lovely to be in a property with such character."
