"Room needs better cleaning"

"The hotel was a hidden gem. The linen and towels were white bright and plush. The grounds and hotel very well maintained. The staff was very polite, professional and helpful. Next time when I’m in the area I will revisit.👍"

"Front desk person was helpful and courteous but room smelled of vaping and marijuana smoking. Called to get another room but there were no rooms available. We used scented sprays around the room but that strong smell still persisted during our stay. "

"Beautiful view of the pond from our room! Convenient breakfast. I wish you offered granola as part of it. I also wish you had real potted plants in the common areas. Plastic plants and flowers are tacky (sorry) and they don’t send the right environmental messages—real plants help us breath! All in all, we had a pleasant stay."

"Our room was upstairs on the 2nd floor. My mom is 90 there was no elevator for her. That was brutal. There was something being built near parking area which looked unfinished. We had a balcony view which looked onto the parking area. There’s a hospital across the street and during the night we heard very loud helicopter noise overhead. "Loved the Black Walnut Inn. I would love to go back. The rooms are lovely. Breakfast is delicious. A very generous spread. Self-serve tea and coffee is available at all times in the dining room area. There are also treats one can help oneself too. Chocolate chip cookies our first day and molasses cookies the second. Meghan bakes the best cookies. Seriously, the best. The owners are very warm. If we visit Amherst again, staying here would be our first choice. Thank you."

"My husband and I were very disappointed. We decided to stay here for nostalgia's sake because it was the first place we had stayed together 14 years ago. We were saddeProperty is run down. Cobwebs in our room. Highway noise was unbearable. Game room has more machines closed than open. No continental breakfast made it very inconvenient and expensive and wasted so much time. We regret that we booked 2 nights."

"We only stayed for one night, but we found that the Inn exceeded our expectations. It was a beautiful historic site, and the cleanliness and friendliness of the staff were as expected from the other reviews of the property. I was traveling with my daughter who has celiac disease, and the Inn was able to provide her with a lovely GF option for breakfast that was as delightful as the rest of the offerings. True GF options while traveling are limited, so this experience was a gem."
