"I know they know how to do hoteling, but the property was in very poor condition, the hotel was OLD and not that it was not clean, but it didnt look pristine."

"After realizing I had booked a "1 star" hotel, we were a little hesitant with our lodging choice but were pleasantly surprise upon arrival. The room at the Kelvin was the largest we had on our 3 week trip to UK with plenty of room for luggage. There was a small desk/table and chairs and was clean and well kept. There is a bar onsite which we did not visit. The hotel is conveniently located very near to the bus/train station and town. We only stayed one night and had no real interactions with...

"The room was clean. The windows opened to allow fresh air. The hotel car park is somewhat small. The hotel is situated on 2 fairly busy roads, so traffic sounds were audible. The walls were quite thin, so a phone conversation in the next room was also audible. It was fine for a one night stay on the way to our next stop."

"The Dalrigh House was clean and quiet, and those qualities are important to us. However, we thought that "private bathroom" meant that it was exclusively ours. This was a misunderstanding on our part, and we don't blame the hotel for that. We left our towels in the bathroom, thinking that no one else was using it, and they were taken by housekeeping. "Great for a quick overnight stop before the early ferry from Oban. There is no on-site staff at the hotel, however they are located at one of the sister hotels nearby. Note that you need an access code to gain entry to the hotel which is sent via email the day before you arrive."

"We were there for 2 days and we thought it was good the building was a bit tiered the room was nice and tidy the view of the bay was great the staff were very nice and helpful and nothing seemed to be too much bother"

"From the very start this was a lovely stay. A wonderful warm welcome, beautifully presented property in an outstanding location. Spacious comfy rooms with everything catered, including complimentary whisky to settle in and look at the view. Great dinner and wine list. Loved it."

"Ein wunderschönes B&B mit herrlichem Blick auf das Wasser. Zimmer sind toll und liebevoll eingerichtet und es fehlt an nix. Jeden Morgen bekommt man einen Korb aufs Zimmer mit verschiedenen Sachen zum Frühstücken. Parkplatz ist vorhanden. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Absolut zu empfehlen!!!"

"Despite how it looks on the outside, this is a very nice hotel. The outside looks rough and needs some attention, but our room was lovely. If you have heavy luggage, be aware that you have to bring it up several stairs to reach the lobby (there is no ramp or lift - the stairs are the only way). The breakfast was good, the people were pleasant, and the amenities were fine. The standout feature of this hotel is the location. Oban is a really lovely town and this hotel is right across from...
