"An historic hotel in a beautiful part of New Zealand. Clean, comfortable room. Did it eat evening meals in dining room, exceedingly noisy group and dishes expensive and focused too much on seafood. Very good location though, on harbour front and very easy walking distance to tourist attractions and reasonable cafes."

Super nice hosts, easy walk to the historic part of town, good wifi/tv, large, comfortable bed, wonderfully dark and quiet at night, easy parking. "Well appointed room and lovely welcome from owners on arrival. Really good views of Russell township and the water / boats. Only thing I would say, bring some strong legs if you plan on walking - the driveway is STEEP hahaaaa. Had a very pleasant stay (5 nights)."

"Beautiful spot by the river with river walk and kayaks for hire - we stayed in pet friendly cabin with bunks for 5, fridge and good supply of crockery but lots of other camping options including lovely glam tents with private balconies overlooking the river - cool communal dining area with pizza oven and trays of pizza making - staff very helpful and allowed early check-in"

"The room we stayed in (#3) was featured on their Expedia page and on their website and looked very good as far as motels are concerned, but we're pretty sure the photo was taken many, many years ago because everything in the room was just old and worn. The sheets and blankets were stained, and my husband was dubious as to whether they were even cleaned, so we ended up sleeping fully clothed. We didn't sit on the sofa because it was stained. "The check in and staff was easy and friendly. The rooms were tidy with all the appliances we needed for the weekend. WRm spa pools x 5 were great and restaurant on site was a bonus with nice food. Will return."
