"Master suite room was perfect. Great view. Hotel location is perfect walking distance to the town for restaurants, etc. The wait staff in the restaurants were really nice. We also did a few excursions organized through the hotel and the guides were all excellent. I would highly recommend."

"We had the place to ourselves and the beautiful wildlife right on the river. Shanna and Kenny were wonderful and handled every aspect of our trip. The pool and bbq were fun! I would definitely stay here again. The family of Howler Monkeys with babies were my favorite part. Peaceful, serene, and in the jungle."

"Our stay at The Maya Mountain Lodge was absolutely wonderful. The place is very cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by beautiful nature — exactly what we were looking for. The staff are extremely kind and helpful, and a special thanks goes to Cesar, who truly went above and beyond. We had unexpected difficulties at the Guatemala–Belize border and arrived very late, around 10:30 pm, but Cesar was still there waiting for us with a smile and made sure we felt welcome and taken care of. That meant a lot after such a stressful travel day. The restaurant food is delicious, easily one of the highlights of our stay. We also loved that the lodge offers several activities, including cooking classes. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very clean, providing great rest after full days of exploring. "What a beautiful resort! Kaleb was our host checking in. Very professional and friendly. There was a small issue with our room, but it was quickly rectified beyond our expectations. The rooms were immaculate, spacious and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous with giant iguanas running around. We dined at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We had a chance to interact with the owner Beverly and she was wonderful and gracious. Upon checking out, I interacted with Dryane, again, very professional and friendly. I chose this location as it was close to both Altun Ha and the Baboon sanctuary, which both come highly recommended from me. Black Orchid is a wonderful place to stay. I hope to return someday."
