"We had an authentic Japanese experience staying here. The location was perfect - the house was on a quiet street while still being very close to the main attractions in the Gion area. The interior was beautiful, clean and well insulated with heated floors and AC in each room. Beds were very comfortable and the upstairs living offered a lovely veiw of the Yasaka Pagoda. "If you had to choose word to describe this hotel, given there were many superlatives, I would say ‘inviting.’ The aesthetics are soothing yet modern. The lobby/bakery has an intimacy. Breakfast preparation was super (choose the eggs Benedict with salmon). I also learned of sound meditation at Ryosoku-in Temple from the Surroundings section on the TV screen - a highlight of seven day stay here."
