"The hotel is conveniently located near the railway station, and the staff was kind. The bed was comfortable, but the building is in serious disrepair: curtains hanging off the rails, broken ceiling panels, peeling paint, loose bathroom tiles, and heavily worn carpets in the hallways. It feels like no maintenance has been done in years, which really overshadows the positives. "

"I thought this perfectly adequate, more than that if I’m honest. Okay, it’s not in the city centre but it’s easy to navigate to from either Perrache or Part Dieu. There’s an Italian restaurant a minute’ walk with other options a 5 minute walk including Columbus for coffee. "Total convenience available: Bakery across the street plus an ice cream/ gelato shop. Around the corner a convenience store and 2 blocks south a major shopping mall with movie theater and a diverse food court atop. Also 2 tram lines (1 to SNFC train & airport and a Westfield Mall / Gallery Lafayette ( also has a food court and famous brand names. Lyon does have UBER, no LYFT ... suggest not to use BOLT!! Great outdoor food market at metro Croix-Russe. I prefer to utilize the public transportation because you can view Lyon better."

"Beautiful monastery restored! Lovely breakfast included, great bar and restaurant, and lovely to eat and sip in the courtyard. I wasn’t aware when I booked it that it was at the top of the hill… hard to determine on a two-dimensional map! But what a treat to discover it! Easy 5 min walk to the Roman amphitheater, and another 5 min to the Basilica and the funicular to take you down to the old, lively city center. It was very hot while we were there and the A/C (like many European hotels) was not very powerful. But overall a wonderful experience. "

"The room was very spacious and had excellent air conditioning. The shower was appropriate sized (vs those tiny tube sized showers in most of Europe). We did not hear others around us and slept well. We took advantage of the valet parking and truly appreciated that. We were able to easily walk and venture into Lyon from the location and felt very safe in our surroundings. The pillows were incredibly flat so I recommend asking for more. Easy fix"
