"Good"

"Oh, River Hotel, how do I hate you? Let me count the ways. It was very difficult to find the hotel. It's narrow and short squished between two buildings which are much bigger. The hotels directions are terrible. All I have to say is that it's right next to the Sofitel, and I would've found it immediately. Despite knowing the city well, I spent about an hour driving around looking for it.My car sat out front, engine running, in the valet area for up to 2 hours before *I* saw it and told them to park it. My first key didn't work so I had to traipse back downstairs to get a new one. After I entered my room and got myself organized I looked for the room service menu. I wanted a bite before I left for my event. No room service. Then I remembered the hotel had a lounge which served food. I went downstairs to the lounge, and what did I discover but a room with some comfy chairs a coffee machine and a refrigerator full of water. Period. After having complained, I will say that the rooms and bathrooms are quite clean, above average. So kudos to housekeeping! Also kudos to the young woman working the desk wearing a dark suit and pink glasses. She was tremendously helpful to me. Unfortunately, that car sitting out front ruined the staff score."

"Front desk was incredible helpful and friendly. The location is incredible. The room was clean but the furniture and bed in my king room were well worn. Overall it was a great value for the location. "

"Cool and perfect for our short trip to Chicago. Room was a bit small, but worked well to sleep in for two nights. The location on the magnificent mile worked perfect to accessing public transportation and tourist bus tours. Lots of great restaurants around the area and it was easy to walk everywhere from this spot. "

"The staff were great. Rooms were very clean but lacked in the little things like soap and a coffee maker. The room was large and comfortable. The cooling system would only keep the room at 70 degrees. The tv was slow and clunky making almost useless for entertainment. No tv guide or movie channels. The hotel is places well around shopping and restaurants near by."

"We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lincoln overall despite a few bumps ... On the minus side, the walls are thin and if you have a loud neighbor, like we did on the first night, you can hear everything going on next door. Fortunately, management eventually agreed the next morning (after the first clerk we talked to said he couldn't do anything for us) to move us to a newly renovated room on the top floor. Both rooms we had were TINY - just a few feet bigger than the bed. If we wanted to hang out in the room, one of us were forced to sit or lie on the bed as there was only one chair. The bathroom in the second room we had was so small there was no mounted toilet paper holder - the paper was kept on the top of the toilet tank. There was one rack for towels. No grip bars in the walk-in shower, which had a very slippery floor. A previous occupant's hair on the bathroom walls (yecch). However, aside from the tinyness of the room, we were satisfied with our stay. The public areas were hip and inviting and the location is outstanding. Be sure to get your daily tickets for free coffee or cocktails and bottled water."
