All I have to say is this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had.. The room was clean and large.. the owner of the hotel was very hands on.. he parked our car and retrieved it for us.. served us breakfast every morning. The staff was great!! The desk girls were great and very knowledgeable.. They definitely made you feel like family here and would definitely stay there again.. the hotel was in a great location too.. we were able to walk just about everywhere except for The beach…

We were a family of 4, with 2 older teenagers. We had a 2 bedroom room. It was absolutely fine. Air con was great. The location is brilliant - 5 minute walk into the thick of things - and they offer secure parking for 20 euros a night, which was a god send! Very freindly staff and ENORMOUS breakfasts with a lot of variety. The pool/lounge/bar area is outside the hotel and down an alley... very secure and very quaint - lovely place. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel, made to feel very welcome by the staff. The breakfast was amazing and could have fed at least 4 people and there was only 2 of us! Very comfy bed in air conditioned room with fridge in it, and lovely bathroom with nice walk in shower, ticked all the boxes. The decor of the hotel was really interesting and quirky as you'll see on the booking site

What an amazing little gem of a hotel this is! We arrived and were greeted by the owner who assisted us with getting out bags out of the car and then drove the car to its parking spot for the duration of our stay. The rest of the staff were equally amazing - kind, generous and helpful! When we arrived they gave us a delicious welcome with pastries, and each time we returned from the scorching 99 degree heat, we were each handed a cold bottle of water. The breakfast spread was 10/10 amazing, plentiful and delicious. The hotel is walking distance from the Cathedral, Quatro Canti, the Ballaro market and Norman Palace which were some of the only sights we visited during the day because of the heat. The small private pool was the perfect way to cool down after a few sweltering hours sight seeing. Around the corner is the perfect Salumaria where we purchased sandwiches, salads, drinks and cookies to enjoy poolside. I highly recommend this hotel and thank you for a wonderful, if short stay.

My husband and I are blown away by the level of care and service at Porta di Castro. The breakfast here every morning is great (it’s impossible to leave here hungry) and they were so helpful with everything we asked about. The hotel is well located to several attractions here in Palermo, it really is a must stay. We would come back to stay here if our future journeys bring us back to Palermo. Just, wow!

Excellent location, beautiful building with 500 years of history, amazing team and extremely helpful owner. Unfortunately there was only one room available - basic triple. This is the most basic room in this property. Definitely worth the stay. Breakfast is overwhelmingly rich! Ah, yes, there is also a 100 year pool with amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend the place.

A wonderful experience and stay. Staff is awesome and so helpful. Anticipating requests. Our suite was huge and very comfortable and clean. Some rooms smaller. Breakfast is generous and delicious. Note: no room safe and pool & hot tub are beautiful but not warm enough for most guests. A great location to access historic center of Palermo. Glad we stayed 4 nights.

Wonderful boutique hotel stay in the heart of real Sicilian life. A bit eclectic (in a good way) Staff was beyond great, going out of their way to surpass all of our expectations. The breakfast was truly unbelievable and they even accommodated us a bit early one morning. I highly recommend!

Best service I have ever received in a hotel. They literally could not do enough, from the very beginning when the reception lady explained where everything was both in the hotel and in Paloma through to breakfast each day where they instantly have a solution for our one gluten-free in the party and one vegetarian. Fantastic location, just round the corner from the beautiful Palazzo Reale and the Duomo, and also right beside a train station to go directly into the airport Swimming pool was a huge bonus too even if it was freezing! Great to be able to lay outside in the Sun or shade and chill for awhile.
