"This is our third stay at Riu (first was in 2023 & 2024). The first two stays were great. This time it was an extremely poor experience to the point we left a day early. The building needs updates, our AC was broken in our room and it took an act of god to have looked at, the wait staff appeared to struggle with what they needed to do their jobs. Normally the wait staff is prompt, this time, it was an overall struggle for wait staff to be consistent in providing decent service. We will not be back. Very disappointed. "

"Good base location. Pretty hotel lobby. Best part was the private beach. Nice little beach, with water pedal bikes you can borrow. Saw sea turtles and cool fish while on the bikes. the only complaint is that more chairs/umbrellas should be made available, even if for sale, we could never find any. Our room phone did not work and was never fixed and there was a weird fishy smell on our side of the hotel (it was not us lol), had to keep the windows open to air it out."

"Some of the staff were rude and unhelpful. There was also multiple nights of yelling and boisterous activity by guests on our floor that woke us up three of the four nights we were there. We called and complained and nothing was done. The food at breakfast was also really disappointing and expensive."

"Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff. Beautiful beach, fun waterpark, nice pools. Many choices to eat. The only thing I’d change is having a couple more reasonably priced restaurants for families."

"Outdoor amenities are excellent. Staff is great. The rooms need upgrading. Bathroom is awkward. There was a problem with the ac and room floor was mostly wet during our stay. There should be late night snacks available after dinner closes or vending machines. There were no fridge in the room, needed to pay extra. There were also no coffee/tea station in the room. "
