"Beautiful hotel and ambiance! Favorite reading spot by the lobby fireplace. Dining was delicious at The Dive restaurant. Loved the quaint room and abundant closet and drawer space. Spacious shower and spectacular rainfall shower head. Only complaint was the mattress we had gave me a backache since I’m used to a firm one, but it’s probably okay for those who prefer soft mattresses. "Nice view of the St. Claire River even if it was on the parking lot side to view the many freighters in passing.. Rooms clean and quiet. Added bonus was lunch at the River Crab fine restaurant in the same lot. Nice two day getaway on a belated spring week without driving too far from my home base."

The men’s bathroom was not clean either but at least had a flushing toilet. The elevator was also gross. The room was decently clean but the start of the stay was less than impressive! "

"This hotel was fabulous in every way. The welcoming way the entrance was decorated for Easter was so inviting. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The rooms were immaculate. Every corner was dusted and cleaned. This was by far the best place that I have ever stayed booking through a third-party. I will definitely look for Candlewood anywhere I go now. "Rooms needs updates carpet old worn, couch from 70"s,wood doors were scratched and worn , water in bathroom very low pressure. Tub grout old discolored, tub needs reglazing. Breakfast not what expected, not enough for all guess. Refrigerator in room very loud, if you are light sleeper you will be up all night. I hated my room view was a cemetery! Ice machine only on first floor,all other floors out of order. Non refundable room will never stay there again."
