"Alicia’s inn is situated within the main town of Philipsburg . After a short walk, you are on the boardwalk and at the beach, where you can rent a beach chair and umbrella for $15. There are several good restaurants, Holland House, Seaview, Big Wood, Oeishas, as suggestions."
"This was my second visit to the island and this resort was gorgeous. Being right on the beach changes the entire experience. Everything you need is basically walkable"
"We absolutely loved it there, what really make this place amazing are the people, they treat you as family. Big S/O to Nelson or Oscar (i got his name confused the whole time) at the front desk, to the bartender at Verenda restaurant, to my two Dominicans new friends (Yari) at the Veranda Market and restaurant. Overall, big S/O to all the staff, the cleaning lady assigned to our room Ms Preciouse, what a wonderful lady. The hotel even gave us a free upgrade to a water front apartment. Great place to stay, spacious rooms/apartments, clean property overall, laundry with detergent and softener included, clean gym, free parking and always some sort of activities going on. It was our second visit to Oyster Bay in 3 months, first visit was in February 2026 for 5 days then we went back again in May 2026 for 10 days. We strongly recommend this hotel."
"Pros- close drive to the airport, GREAT island and BEAUTIFUL water. The beach was amazing. We did not go during the busy season, so we were always able to get cabana or chairs on the beach where we wanted. The beach service was a nice touch too, although we didn't really figure it out until the last day of our trip. Food was really good (limited gluten free options). The size of the resort was wonderful, especially with 6 kiddos. We felt comfortable letting them go together between pool and beach and to the room if needed. It felt very safe. Great location and most staff were kind. The kids loved the parrot, Gizmo, and how he walks around each morning. The main pool area was great for adults and children. Beach front room location couldn't have been closer to sand and was great location to the resort amenities.
Cons- staff were not as friendly as other resorts. We paid for all-inclusive but often felt we were inconveniencing staff when we asked for something. Did not like having to wait for a bill each time you eat when you are all-inclusive. This kind of takes away the feel of not worrying about cost and food and we have never had to do this anywhere else. The room (2 queen bed beach front) was small and bad sewage smell, clogged drains, loud air conditioning fan. Resort could have been cleaner but didn't feel dirty. Kayak and rental gear included with A/I but we didn't get to use all week due to their rescue boat being broken- major bummer.
Would consider staying again."
"The classification of the rooms were a bit misleading and could have caused issues on my vacation. I reserved a studio suite however the pictures shown did not reflect what I got when I arrived. However, I was able to find a more suitable option after some negotiations with the management. I had to pay for said option though."
"Everything about this resort was great! From the people to the food and the drinks I couldn’t ask for better service. The only thing I have to say was the bed in the room felt really damp, I’m guessing because of the humidity and it had a smell to it that I couldn’t really describe but it wasn’t all that bad. Some of the lounge chairs at the pool needed to be cleaned or replaced but other than those two things we really enjoyed our stay there and will be back to St. Maarten."
