"The staff was wonderful; extremely helpful. Breakfast was very good. The rooms and common areas were spotless. The driveway into the parking area needs work, but to be fair, since it's shared with other businesses which are closer to the road, that is probably out of their control. "

"Very nice property. Bathrooms are small but adequate. Room was spacious and very clean. We asked for handicapped accessible way in advance and person I spoke to wrote down that we needed a shower bench ( we did not need the bench!) - abd there was no handrail! So for the two days we were there my handicapped husband could not shower."

"The Hampton Inn is quickly becoming one of my favorite hotels in Salem. I come to town often to enjoy Salem’s stores, restaurants, and events. This place (Salem) is truly my happy place, and I’ve enjoyed the couple of times I’ve been able to stay. It’s clean, safe, and close to everything!"

"Me and my daughter stayed here to meet up with a long-time friend on her comedy tour. We love Salem and had never stayed in the Hawthorne. Beautiful hotel. Walkable to many locations. The restaurant in side was delicious. Hoping to stay here again sometime."

"Dee is amazing and she deserves a raise!!!! This woman was short house keeping staff and was running the front desk and cleaning rooms to get everyone settled in place. She was very apologetic for the delayed check in (5p) offered us a gift card for dinner and access to the pool while we waited. The room was bright, modern and comfortable. This suite had a full kitchenette with stove great for longer stays and families."

"Awful breakfast (grey eggs/stale bread/dirty dishes etc). Entire hotel suffered from delayed maintenance. Dingy. Chipped paint/plaster/floor tiles. Security lock was coming loose. "
