"The room was very spacious and clean, bed was very comfortable. Balcony had a beautiful view"

"Unfortunately there had been a storm and the hotel was without a restaurant or bar, and in recovery mode. However, the receptionist was very helpful. The hotel itself is a stunner."

"Our stay at Casa do Rio was exceptional. There are 10 rooms with stunning views of the Douro River and vineyards. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated, and we were welcomed with a plate of fresh figs and white port and all ingredients to make portonics. The grounds are lovely with an infinity pool overlooking the river and two semi private fresh water dunking pools. The food and was outstanding! We made our dinner selections earlier in the day and were treated to an exquisite...

"Fantastic place, really close to a lot of excellent hikes, and for us, eclipse-adjacent!"

"The room was very clean and comfortable. Paula at the front desk was very friendly and helpful."

"Andre and Susanna have created a stay that is unique and special. The house is a gorgeous restoration—easily one of the most beautiful spaces we've stayed in. The hospitality was warm, generous, and sincere. We were treated to a taste of Moncorvo’s traditional regional culture. Perfect location for exploring the Coa Valley rock art and the Douro wine region. 10/10!"Andre and Susanna have created a stay that is unique and special. "This is hands down one of the prettiest and coolest properties you can stay in, in rural Portugal. The property, room and pool and service was amazing, but the town itself situated in is also just one of the coolest experiences. So many handmade items included in your stay and available to purchase. The host is amazing, super friendly and laid back. The grounds were beautiful, unique and has so much character. We stayed here for a night after taking the train into Pochino and it was one of the...
