The quality of the place was exceptional with extra details such as a great coffee machine, high quality and generous quantity of body care products, high quality bed linen and very comfortable bed, all with a spectacular view and an amazing passing parade of native creatures.

Fantastic location - beautiful views and wildlife

Our stay at Boroka Downs was amazing. Bob was very helpful and provided maps and information about hikes in the Grampians. The chalet was very comfortable, clean and fully equipped - everything we needed was provided. The chalet was very private and well located away from the other chalets, and with beautiful views of the Grampians. There was a water bowl outside and we enjoyed watching the kangaroos and wallabies come for a drink in the morning, followed by rosellas and then blue wrens. It was a great stay and we are hoping to go back next year.

This property was absolutely amazing. Located near the entrance of the Grampians in a very isolated and private area. The cottage was spacious with all modern meningitis. It really looks like the picture. Wildlife at your door - so beautiful. Big, beautiful, romantic bath - just a lovely place.

Romantic Getaway

Our stay at Boroka Downs was for our 20th Wedding anniversary and was the most amazing place to stay. The place was just stunning and Steph and Bob were lovely and couldn't of been more perfect. The Luxury Retreat in Your Own Private Sanctuary

It was a last-minute booking for us over the Australia Day long weekend and Boroka Downs certainly lives up to its excellent reputation! We stayed at Residence No.4 and had the beautiful expansive views of natural to us. We had quite a few kangaroos visiting us during our stay and we certainly enjoyed our bottle of complementary sparking while blessed with breathtaking sunset every evening. The whole place was spotless and the king-sized bed was particularly comfortable. The two days we stayed there was extremely hot (39° and 40° respectively), luckily the large reverse air-con did its job brilliantly, we also used the large spa to relax after the long hike every evening. We also took advantage of the fast free wifi and streamed Netflix shows at night without any problem. Everything you need is inside the residence, from a loaf of bread and fruits to a big tin of several varieties of Australian teas, a proper coffee machine (that grind the beans first and then make the coffee for you) as well as any cooking supplies you ever need. Bob and Steph have been fantastic and extremely helpful, they made us feel very welcomed during our stay. It was very hard for us to say good bye but we know for sure that we will be coming back to Boroka Downs soon. All in all, we love everything about Boroka Downs, it exceeded all our expectations and we could only wish that we were there a bit longer.

Stunning views

THE most amazing welcoming we've ever received. We were taken through all the facilities of the establishment and were given useful tips on places to go and things to see. The place itself was very well stocked with breakfast facilities, a bowl of fruit, plenty of coffee beans, bread and milk as well as bird books, an excellent set of binoculars, maps and even a daypack for bush walking. Set in the bush you get to see plenty of kangaroos and other wildlife, including the stunning red rumped parrot and the beautiful to listen to rufus whistler.

Best place I have ever stayed!!

The most amazing place I have ever stayed! Staff were so helpful and made sure we did all the best hikes and saw the best views etc. The accomodation was nothing short of what you are expecting! So many minor details included in your accomodation to make it feel like you are at home. Clean and tidy, and views from room are everything you see on the website advertisement! I cannot fault it! They give you food, maps, torches, backpack, just so many amazing little things! Will 100% be back!!

Amazing accomodation in beautiful surroundings

We spent 3 nights at Boroka Downs and cannot rate this accomodation highly enough. Hubby and I were looking for a break away from Melbourne city life and couldn't have picked a better place to relax and unwind. The chalets are beautiful, everything you need for a romantic weekend is catered for. The views of the Grampians from your chalet are breathtaking. Even though it rained for the majority of our trip it didn't impact our stay one bit. We loved it! We had the fire going every evening and halls gap is only a few mins away for food-we had the best Indian meal we have ever had in the town there and found a beautiful restaurant called Deirdres in the north of the Grampians at Laharum olive grove where we spent 3 hrs having a beautiful lunch-amazing find. Also coffee and food at Harvest cafe in Halls gap is fab! Baroka is the perfect location for anyone looking to relax,unwind and recharge in breathtaking surroundings. The hosts are lovely and are there if you need them but if you don't you won't see them. Don't think about it and just book it. You won't regret it!

Romantic getaway

Lovely accommodation! Kitchen is well equipped. Unit is comfortable and spacious. Kangaroos/wallabies roamed the grounds. Stargazing on clear nights. Location is great for exploring the grampians. Owners provided binoculars, dvds, and even shared some wine and homegrown veggie with us.

Peaceful and private

Beautiful accommodation. Comfortable, clean and stylish. Open plan living - but very large - which works very well for couples in the one bedroom apartment. Some very welcoming touches provided by Bob and Stephanie. Best of all is the beautiful views of mountains and the peaceful quiet which allows you to enjoy the sounds of birds and to watch the kangaroos and emus in the evening. Apartments very private from each other. Very well spaced apart and no direct line of sight into any other residents' space. In fact, you really feel that you have the place to yourself. In short a little slice of heaven in a majestic part of the world. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property and couldn't think of anything that we would improve. We will definately stay there again.

Serenity at it's best!

Boroka Downs is a lovely place to stay in the Grampians. It's situated just outside of Halls Gap and on a massive block of land. Nature and the great outdoors is literally at your door step. Although there is 6 houses out there you have all the privacy you need and you can't see your neighbours. The staff are very helpful and friendly with a paper dropped to your door each morning and wood supplied throughout the day for the fire. The apartment was extremely clean and very environmentaly friendly. Everything you needed and more was there and available for use even down to handy tips on how to use the coffee machine and having a hiking bag available with hiking books. This is a must for any couple looking for some time out!
